April 2013

The last international conference “The role and applications of collision processes in different kinds of plasmas and laser beams” organized by the Optics Department, was held in 22-25 April 2013, in Faculty of Physics, in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, Russia. The title under which Proceedings of the Conference was published in Vestnik SPbGU was “Collisional processes in gas and laser media”. The Conference was devoted to different kinds of problem plasma and laser physics.

The aims of this Conference were:

  1. The exchange of novel results obtained in the field of the Conference theme.
  2. The development of the collaborations with foreign colleagues.
  3. The experience of performance and communication with the foreign scientists at the International Conferences for students.

The scientists from Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia were invited and visited this Conference, they gave the lectures for students and research staff of Faculty of Physics.

The visits of Prof. Dirk Uhrlandt, Prof. Anatoly A. Mihajlov and Dr. Kaspars Michulis were financially supported by the Dynasty foundation within the frame of the program of visits of foreign scientists to Russia

Within the frame of the Conference the invited scientists, research staff and students of Faculty of Physics visited the Resource Scientific Centers of Saint-Petersburg University:

1. Center for optical and laser materials research. Director PhD (Candidate of Physics and Mathematics) Alexey Viktorovich Kurochkin

2. Center for chemical analysis and materials research. Director Dr. of Tech. Sciences  Alexey Leonidovich Moskvin
